We are the data fiduciary responsible for the personal data described in this policy, in the meaning given to that term under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

2. What We Collect

You give us:

  • Name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping address, GSTIN where applicable
  • Account credentials when you register on karban.in or the Karban app
  • Order details and payment information (card or UPI data is handled directly by our payment gateway — we never see or store it)
  • Communications you send us over email, WhatsApp, or social media
  • Warranty registration details, including product serial numbers and installation address

We collect automatically:

  • IP address, device type, browser, operating system, referring URL, and pages viewed
  • Approximate location derived from your IP address
  • Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 7)
  • App telemetry — if you use the Karban smart home app, we receive device usage data, air-quality readings from your Airzone, network connectivity status, and crash logs

We never ask for sensitive personal data such as caste, religion, political views, biometrics, or health information. Please do not send us any.

3. How We Use It

  • To process and deliver your orders, register warranties, and provide after-sales service
  • To run and improve the Karban app, including diagnosing device issues remotely
  • To respond to your queries on email, WhatsApp, and social channels
  • To send you order updates, service notifications, and — if you've opted in — marketing about new launches and offers
  • To detect fraud, secure our systems, and comply with Indian law
  • To analyse aggregated usage patterns and improve our products and website

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Ever.

4. Who We Share It With

We share data only with parties who help us run the business, and only the minimum they need:

  • Payment gateways (Razorpay, GoKwik, and similar) — to process your transactions securely under PCI-DSS standards
  • Logistics partners (Delhivery, Bluedart, Amazon, and others) — to deliver your order
  • Cloud and infrastructure providers — for hosting, email, and analytics
  • Marketing platforms — only for users who have opted in
  • Legal and regulatory authorities — when required under Indian law, court order, or to protect our rights

Some of these providers may store data outside India. Where that happens, we ensure equivalent protections are in place.

5. How Long We Keep It

We retain your personal data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, or as required by Indian law — whichever is longer. Order, invoice, and tax records are retained for eight years to meet GST and Companies Act requirements. Marketing data is retained until you withdraw consent.

6. Your Rights

Under applicable Indian law, you can:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct anything inaccurate or incomplete
  • Erase your data, subject to legal retention requirements
  • Withdraw consent for marketing or any other consent-based processing, at any time
  • Nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in case of incapacity
  • Raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer (Section 10)

7. Cookies

We use cookies to keep you logged in, remember your cart, understand which pages perform well, and personalise your experience. You can disable cookies in your browser settings — but parts of karban.in may not work as intended if you do.

We use third-party analytics tools (such as Google Analytics and Meta Pixel) that set their own cookies. Their data practices are governed by their own privacy policies.

8. Security

We use industry-standard physical, electronic, and managerial safeguards to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to keep yours safe — and we'll notify you and the relevant authority promptly in the unlikely event of a breach affecting your data.

9. Children

Karban products and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a minor has shared data with us, write to support@karban.in and we'll remove it.

These Terms govern your use of karban.in, the Karban smart home app, and any product, service, or content offered by Karban Envirotech Private Limited ("Karban", "we", "us", "our"). By browsing the site, creating an account, placing an order, or using our products, you accept these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use our services.

These Terms work alongside our Privacy Policy, Returns & Refunds Policy, and Warranty Policy, all of which are incorporated by reference.

1. Who We Are

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872. By using our services, you represent that you meet these criteria. If you're acting on behalf of a business, you confirm you have the authority to bind that entity.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your account credentials confidential. Any activity under your account is treated as your own. Notify us immediately at support@karban.in if you suspect unauthorised access.

We may suspend or terminate accounts for misuse, fraud, or violation of these Terms.

4. Products, Pricing & GST

Product descriptions, images, colours, and specifications are provided in good faith but may vary slightly from the actual product due to display settings, material variations, or design refinements. Pre-launch products (such as Airzone+) are described based on current development status and final specifications may evolve before shipping.

All prices on karban.in are in Indian Rupees (₹) and are inclusive of GST unless stated otherwise. Shipping and installation charges, where applicable, are shown separately at checkout.

We reserve the right to revise prices, withdraw products, or correct pricing or specification errors at any time without prior notice. If a pricing error is identified after you place an order, we'll contact you to confirm whether you'd like to proceed at the corrected price or cancel for a full refund.

5. Orders & Acceptance

When you place an order, you make an offer to purchase. The contract is formed only when we send you an order confirmation email — not when payment is taken or the order is placed. Until then, we may decline or cancel any order at our discretion, including for stock unavailability, suspected fraud, pricing errors, or shipping restrictions to your location.

You may cancel an unshipped order by writing to support@karban.in. Once an order has been dispatched, our Returns & Refunds Policy applies.

6. Payment

We accept payments through authorised payment gateways including Razorpay, GoKwik, and other partners shown at checkout. Card and UPI data is handled directly by these gateways under PCI-DSS standards — Karban does not see, store, or process your payment credentials.

We are not liable for any loss arising from declined transactions, gateway downtime, or limits set by your bank.

7. Shipping, Delivery & Title

We ship across India through partner logistics providers. Estimated delivery times shown at checkout are indicative, not guaranteed. Risk in the product passes to you on delivery; title passes once full payment is received and the product is delivered.

Please inspect your shipment on receipt and report any visible damage within the timelines in our Returns & Refunds Policy.

8. Installation

Karban ceiling-mounted products (Airzone, Airzone+, Lumone) require professional installation by a qualified electrician. We provide an installation guide and, in eligible PIN codes, a paid professional installation service.

You are responsible for ensuring your ceiling, wiring, and electrical infrastructure are suitable and compliant with applicable electrical safety standards. Karban is not liable for damage, injury, or loss caused by improper installation, unauthorised modification, or installation by anyone other than a qualified professional. Installation by an unqualified person may also void your warranty.

9. Returns, Refunds & Warranty

Returns and refunds are governed by our Returns & Refunds Policy. Manufacturing defects discovered after the return window are handled under our Warranty Policy.

Orders placed through marketplaces (Amazon, Flipkart, and others), authorised dealers, retail partners, or any channel other than karban.in are governed by that seller's or platform's policies. The manufacturer warranty from Karban applies regardless of where you purchased, subject to proof of purchase.

10. Karban App & Smart Home Services

If you use the Karban smart home app, you also agree to its in-app terms, which cover device pairing, software updates, cloud connectivity, and data collection. Smart features depend on a working internet connection, your device's compatibility, and the availability of our cloud services. We may update, modify, or discontinue app features as we improve the platform.

11. Intellectual Property

All content on karban.in and the Karban app — including product designs, photography, illustrations, copy, the Karban logo, the "Art Meets Air" tagline, brand colour system, the Airzone, Airzone+, and Lumone names, patents (granted and pending), trademarks, and underlying source code — is owned by or licensed to Karban Envirotech Private Limited and is protected under Indian and international intellectual property laws.

You may view, download, and print pages for personal, non-commercial use. You may not, without our prior written consent:

  • Reproduce, republish, or redistribute any content
  • Use our trademarks, product names, or imagery in your own marketing, listings, or branding
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from our app or firmware
  • Scrape, mirror, or harvest content from our site for any purpose
  • Create derivative works based on our designs or content

Unauthorised use may give rise to civil claims and criminal liability under the Copyright Act, 1957, the Trade Marks Act, 1999, the Patents Act, 1970, and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

12. User-Generated Content

If you submit reviews, photos, videos, or other content to karban.in or tag us on social media, you grant Karban a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual licence to use, reproduce, and display that content for marketing and promotional purposes, with attribution where reasonable. You confirm the content is your own and doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.

We may remove any content that is misleading, defamatory, offensive, or otherwise inappropriate at our sole discretion.

13. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use our services for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, servers, or other users' accounts
  • Introduce malware, viruses, or harmful code
  • Interfere with the operation of karban.in or the Karban app

16. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted under Indian law, Karban, its directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business — arising out of your use of our services or products.

Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from a product or order shall not exceed the amount you actually paid for that specific product or order.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be lawfully limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by gross negligence, or rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

17. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Karban, its directors, employees, and affiliates harmless against any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of our services, or your violation of any third-party rights or applicable law.

18. Force Majeure

We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control — including natural disasters, pandemics, acts of war, civil unrest, government action, supply-chain disruption, internet or telecom outages, or logistics network failure.

19. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to our services at any time for breach of these Terms, suspected fraud, or where we are required to do so by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including Intellectual Property, Limitation of Liability, Indemnity, and Governing Law — will continue to apply.

20. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to the dispute resolution clause below, the courts at Jaipur, Rajasthan shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or our services.

21. Dispute Resolution

If a dispute arises, please first write to support@karban.in so we can try to resolve it amicably. If we can't resolve it within 30 days, the dispute shall be referred to arbitration by a sole arbitrator appointed by Karban under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The seat of arbitration shall be Jaipur, and the language shall be English. The arbitrator's award shall be final and binding.

Every Karban product is designed, engineered, and inspected to live in your home for years. If it falls short — for any reason — we'll make it right.

7-Day Returns

You have seven days from delivery to return any Karban product if it doesn't suit your space or application. Write to us at support@karban.in within this window and we'll arrange a pickup at no cost.

To be eligible, the product must reach us in its original condition, with all packaging, accessories, and documentation intact.

Damaged or Defective on Arrival

In the rare event that your product arrives damaged or with a manufacturing defect, notify us at support@karban.inwithin 48 hours of delivery. We'll arrange a free replacement — no debate, no paperwork chase.

To help us process your claim quickly, please share a clear unboxing video showing the issue along with photographs of the outer packaging.

Refunds

Once your return reaches us and passes a quick inspection, we initiate the refund to your original payment method. Depending on your bank, the amount typically reflects in 7–10 working days. If you don't see it by then, write to support@karban.in and we'll trace it personally.

What We'll Need From You

  • The original packaging, invoice, and all accessories
  • A short video of the product being packed for return — this protects both of us against transit damage claims
  • Your request raised within the timelines above

Not Eligible for Return

Products that have been installed, modified, or damaged after delivery aren't eligible for change-of-mind returns. Manufacturing defects discovered later are handled separately under our product warranty, not this policy.

EMI Policy

Purpose

This policy outlines the terms and conditions related to the No Cost EMI (NCEMI) option available to customers purchasing products through the official Karban website (karban.in). It aims to ensure transparency and clarity around the NCEMI offering.


Scope

This policy applies to all customers who opt for the NCEMI payment option at checkout on Karban’s official website.

Policy Statement


1. What is NCEMI (No Cost EMI)?

The No Cost EMI (NCEMI) option allows customers to purchase Karban products and pay in monthly installments without bearing the additional cost of interest. Karban covers the interest amount by offering a discount equivalent to the interest charged by the bank or financial institution.


2. Discount Structure

  • When a customer selects the NCEMI option during checkout, Karban provides a discount equal to the total interest payable on the EMI.
  • This discount is applied upfront and reflected in the order value, thereby reducing the customer’s financial burden.

3. Customer’s EMI Responsibilities

  • While Karban covers the interest amount via an upfront discount, the customer is still responsible for paying the full EMI (principal + interest) to their respective bank or financial institution as per their EMI agreement.
  • Karban is not a party to the loan or EMI agreement and bears no responsibility for the terms, conditions, or payments agreed upon between the customer and the financial institution.

4. Cancellation and Return Policy under NCEMI

If a customer cancels or returns a product purchased via NCEMI:

  • Only the principal amount paid by the customer will be refunded.
  • The interest component, covered initially by Karban as a discount, will not be refunded.
  • The customer remains liable to the bank for any EMIs due as per the original loan terms.

5. Responsibilities

Customer Responsibilities

  • Carefully review the EMI terms offered by their bank or financial provider.
  • Understand that Karban’s NCEMI covers the interest only through an upfront discount and does not waive the obligation to pay the bank.

Karban Responsibilities

  • Ensure clear and accurate communication about the NCEMI option on all relevant customer-facing platforms.
  • Provide a transparent breakup of the price, discount, and EMI structure where applicable.

Enforcement

  • This policy is enforced by Karban’s Customer Support and Returns Department.
  • Any non-compliance by the customer in adhering to the EMI payment schedule with the bank does not affect Karban’s enforcement of this policy.

We ship Karban products across India through trusted logistics partners. Here's how it works.

Free Shipping Across India

Every order on karban.in ships free. No minimum order value, no hidden charges, no surprises at checkout — whether you're buying a single Lumone or a full Airzone+ setup.

Order Processing

Once you place an order, we process and dispatch it within 24–48 working hours, excluding Sundays and public holidays. Each unit goes through a thorough quality check before it leaves our warehouse — every Airzone, Airzone+, and Lumone is inspected, packaged, and sealed under our supervision before handover to the courier.

If we anticipate any delay — stock movement, festive load, or a flagged QC issue — we'll write to you before it affects your timeline.

Delivery Timeline

Most orders are delivered within 4–7 business days from dispatch, depending on your PIN code. Metros and tier-1 cities are typically faster; remote and tier-3 locations may take a couple of days longer.

These timelines are estimates, not guarantees. Factors outside our control — courier load, weather disruption, regional restrictions, or address verification delays — can occasionally extend delivery.

Courier Partners

We work with established national logistics providers, including Delhivery, Bluedart, DTDC, and others, selected by route and product to ensure the safest handling for premium hardware. Karban products ship in custom-engineered protective packaging designed to withstand transit damage to delicate components like the bladeless louvers.

Order Tracking

Once your order is dispatched, you'll receive an email and WhatsApp message with the AWB number and tracking link. You can follow your shipment from our warehouse to your doorstep in real time.

If tracking shows no movement for more than 48 hours, write to support@karban.in and we'll investigate with the courier directly.

Delivery Address

Please double-check your address, PIN code, and contact number at checkout. Karban is not responsible for delays, misdeliveries, or losses caused by incorrect or incomplete address information.

If your courier is unable to reach you after multiple attempts, the package may be returned to us. In that case, we'll contact you to either reship (reshipping fee may apply) or process a refund per our Returns & Refunds Policy.

Order Modifications & Cancellations

Changed your mind or made a typo? Write to support@karban.in as soon as possible.

  • Before dispatch: We can modify the address, change items, or cancel for a full refund.
  • After dispatch: Modifications are not possible. You can refuse delivery or initiate a return under our Returns & Refunds Policy once the product arrives.

Damage & Lost Shipments

Inspect your package on delivery. If the outer carton is visibly damaged, please record an unboxing video and write to support@karban.in within 48 hours of delivery with the video and photographs. We'll arrange a free replacement under our Returns & Refunds Policy.

In the rare event of a lost shipment, we'll work with our courier partner to trace it. If it can't be recovered within 7 working days, we'll either reship the order or process a full refund — your choice.

Installation

Karban ceiling-mounted products require professional installation by a qualified electrician. Installation is not included in standard shipping. In eligible PIN codes, we offer paid professional installation through certified partners — opt in at checkout or write to support@karban.in to arrange it post-delivery.

International Shipping

We currently ship only within India. International enquiries — including orders from the UAE, US, UK, Singapore, and Australia — can be sent to support@karban.in and we'll respond case by case.

Marketplace & Dealer Orders

Orders placed through marketplaces (Amazon, Flipkart, and others), authorised dealers, retail partners, or any channel other than karban.in are fulfilled and shipped by that seller or platform under their own delivery, tracking, and return terms — not by Karban directly. For shipping or delivery issues on those orders, the fastest route is the seller's or platform's customer service.

For product-specific questions or warranty claims on units purchased through any channel, write to support@karban.in and we'll step in. Your manufacturer warranty from Karban applies regardless of where you bought, subject to proof of purchase.
